Music as Design Language
Time & Location
About The Event
In this workshop participants will learn the process of creating a space inspired by the emotional journey a musical piece can evoke. Utilizing the process of design in translating music to a space, participates will learn how to reflect, fragment and
formulate a design from concept to a result .
The power of music lays in its ability to move, control and change us by penetrating our minds and changing its perceptions. It is why we get high on music, or low. Like any language, musical notes by themselves do not formulate music, they only make sound. Similarly letters by themselves are only sounds. But when these fragmented notes are composed and combined into a musical piece, they create a language.
This language that our brains don't necessarily comprehend but our emotions and feelings have the ability to decode. As they communicate beyond the perceptual qualities of sound into the rooted subconscious of our feelings. As we are, after all, musically DESIGNED. There are a lot of similarities between design language, principles and elements
and that of the music language.
What if we can use music as a design language?
