Data Visualization, My Life In Charts
Time & Location
About The Event
The objective of this workshop is to develop the data visualization skills of the participants in order to help them translate information in a more accessible way to a given audience. This workshop will help participants practice the skills of researching and will familiarize them with the principles of information design as well as the relation between aesthetics and data.
Students will expand their knowledge on how to build narratives by translating dry information into visual stories.
The three hour session will start with an introduction to data visualization, exploring questions like what is data? how do we collect and organize it? how to best represent it to communicate our message?
Participants will then gather their personal data, and will work on a specific theme that will be shared during the workshop. They will analyze their findings, and create one or a series of visuals that help communicate their theme
